青軸とは白梅のことです

教会の東側入り口近くに、一本の青軸（あおじく／白梅）の木があります。

駐車場からの小径通り、戸口に立つ時ふと季節の移ろいを静かに伝えてくれる存在でもありす。

冬の最中ですが、新しく出てきた枝はきれいな緑色。

まだ冷たい空気の中、そのみずみずしい色合いは、まるで春の約束のようですね

青軸品種の特徴は、花梅としても、実梅としても楽しめる品種であること。

果色は緑黄色の大粒の早生種です。庭木として花も楽しめ、また実も収穫できるので、古くから親しまれてきました。

花は白色の一重で、やわらかな香りがあります。

澄んだ白い花びらが光を受けてほのかに透ける様子は、とても美しいです。

そして6月ごろになると、枝には大きな梅の実がふくらみます。

毎年、美しい花を咲かせ、やがて立派な実を実らせる姿は、まさに実りの象徴。

実は梅酒・梅干し・梅ジャムなどに利用でき、恵みとして私たちの食卓にもつながっていきます。

京都復興教会は創立80周年を迎えこの日曜日は記念の祝会が行われました。

朝から降り出した雪は午後になっても止まず、教会は白い静けさに包まれ、雪の中で行われた80周年のお祝いの日。

長い年月を守られてきた歩みを思い起こす、あたたかな祝会となりました。

花の美しさだけでなく、実を結ぶ豊かさも持つ青軸。

目に見える美しさと、後に実る確かな実り。どちらも大切にされているのです。

その姿は、神さまが与えてくださる恵みのかたちを思わせます。

80年という年月もまた、咲くときと実るときを重ねながら与えられてきた歩みなのでしょう。東側入り口の青軸は、私たちのそばで、これからも静かに、そして忠実に季節を重ね、この先に続く教会の歩みも見守ってくれるのでしょうね

Near the east entrance of Kyoto Fukkō Church, there stands a single Aojiku plum tree — a white plum variety.

Along the small path from the parking area, as we pause at the doorway, it quietly tells us of the changing seasons.

Though it is still the depth of winter, the newly emerging branches are a beautiful, fresh green.

In the cold air, their vibrant color feels like a promise of spring.

The Aojiku variety is unique in that it can be enjoyed both as an ornamental flowering plum and as a fruit-bearing plum.

Its fruit is a large, early-ripening type with a greenish-yellow color. Because it offers both lovely blossoms and a harvest of fruit, it has been cherished as a garden tree for generations.

The flowers are single white blossoms with a gentle fragrance.

When the clear white petals catch the light and softly glow, they are truly beautiful.

Around June, large plums begin to swell on the branches.

Each year, the tree blooms beautifully and then bears fine fruit — a true symbol of fruitfulness.

The plums can be used for plum wine, pickled plums, and plum jam, becoming blessings that reach even our tables.

This year, Kyoto Fukkō Church celebrated its 80th anniversary, and a commemorative gathering was held this Sunday.

Snow began to fall in the morning and did not stop throughout the afternoon. The church was wrapped in white stillness as the anniversary celebration took place in the snow.

It became a warm and meaningful occasion, recalling the long years through which the church has been faithfully sustained.

The Aojiku plum bears not only the beauty of its blossoms but also the richness of its fruit.

Visible beauty and the sure fruit that follows — both are treasured.

Its  reminds us of the form of grace that God gives.

Eighty years, too, have been a journey of blooming and bearing fruit.

The Aojiku by the east entrance will continue to stand beside us, quietly and faithfully marking the seasons, watching over the church’s path into the years ahead.
